TRAVEL WITH A PET

I have a confession to make: Although I often claim to be a solo traveler - that's simply not the case. When I embarked on my digital nomad adventure in the summer of 2023, I wasn't alone. My sidekick, Maia, was right alongside me - or rather, on my back, safely tucked in her K9 Sport Sack. It's been an absolute joy to have her with me on this journey, but it's definitely made a huge difference in the way I travel now. Here are some tips and resources you need to know if you want to bring your fur companion on your next adventure.

• Check Airline Policies: Confirm pet travel policies for cabin or cargo and make a reservation.
• Vet Visit: Ensure your pet is healthy, up-to-date on vaccinations, and get a health certificate.
• Microchip & ID Tags: Ensure your pet is microchipped and wearing updated ID tags.
• Pet Carrier: Choose an airline-approved carrier.
• Documents: For international flights, check specific country import requirements, including quarantine rules, vaccinations, and paperwork like a rabies certificate.
• Comfort: Pack essentials like food, water, toys, and a leash.
